Accreditation by the Canadian
Council on Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA) has played a major role in
hospitals for the past 40 years. Recently, home care standards have been
developed to ensure quality programs to individuals at home.
Health service organizations are assessed against these national
standards by an external team which reviews performance in the areas of
management, client care, quality improvement, safety and support services.
The mission of the CCHSA is to promote excellence in the provision of quality
health services and the efficient use of resources in health organizations
across Canada.
The three year CCHSA accreditation acknowledges our commitment to excellence in
respiratory home care.
Accreditation is a process that organizations use to evaluate their services and to better the quality of their services. Accreditation also provides recognition that an organization's services are meeting national standards of quality.
The Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA) is a national accrediting body for organizations across all health sectors in Canada. They are an independent, non-government, non-profit organization funded by their members. They have been in existence since 1958 and their voluntary accreditation program is recognized by the provincial and federal funders of health services.
